L’État islamique d’Iraq et du Levant-Khorassan (EIIL-K) a été formé le 10 janvier 2015 par un ancien commandant de Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) (QDe.132) et établi par d’anciens commandants d’une faction des Taliban ayant prêté allégeance à l’État islamique d’Iraq et du Levant [entité inscrite sous le nom Al-Qaida in Iraq (QDe.115)].
